Industrial Services or Utilities is a collective term for the supporting infrastructure to main process equipment in a factory. E.g. Steam, Chilled Water, Compressed Air, Electricity, etc. Although they seldom come in direct contact with food products and processing operations, their design and maintenance are critical to achieving food safety. In this video lecture, Disha Sinha (Process Engineer at PMG) will discuss the basic Utilities used in food factories, related food safety risks, and management of Utilities to safeguard food processing operations from cross-contamination.
